Member Experience Manager

In March 2019 I joined the small VicWater team based in Little Lonsdale Street Melbourne. VicWater is the peak industry association serving all nineteen Victorian water authorities as our primary members as well as several Victorian Catchment Management Authority associate members. As Member Experience Manager I am responsible for all major touch points. This role includes marketing and communications, web design and maintenance, social media and engagement, event management (physical and virtual), design and execution, branding and development, communications and marketing strategy and implementation, and member support.
Achievements
- Created a Member Experience Strategy to increase awareness of VicWater and increase member engagement
- Created an entirely new Brand identity for the organisation, with a fresh contemporary persona that reflects our organisation and our members
- Redefined the Members Update into a professional e-news publication delivered to members monthly
- Elevated sponsorship opportunities and delivered profitable partnerships for VicWater and sponsor partners
- Delivered successful social media campaigns for key areas of the business, resulting in business growth and awareness
- Grew the VicWater LinkedIn channel from 500 followers in March 2019 to 5,310 at the end of July 2022
- Delivered the most successful physical Annual Conference (2019) in over 10 years, with record numbers of attendees and profits achieved via sponsorships, including international sponsors Wessex Water
- Delivered the first completely virtual Annual Conference (2020) in complete isolation
- Delivered the first hybrid conference (2021) with seamless two way streaming, allowing presenters to participate in real time as virtual or in-person presentations. Delegates could also opt to attend in person or online and collaborate in real time or watch the replay sessions on demand.
- Created the new VicWater website from scratch. The site includes improved navigation and visual elements, a Jobs Board, News feed and enhanced Members Zone restricted by password and security level access
- Enhanced the awareness of VicWater at state, national and international level
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the VicWater Member Experience strategy, communications strategy, communications and marketing plan, and content schedule for all channels and touch points
- Generate a strong social media presence for VicWater primarily focused on LinkedIn, as the preferred network of our audience
- Entice new sponsorship opportunities and support engagement with our current partners and sponsors
- Design and production of all marketing materials including the annual VicWater Business Plan, Annual Report, Industry Publications, sponsorship proposals, events branding and associated collateral
